Making your own watercolours allows you to create an incredibly archival, high-quality paint with a more brilliant luminosity than conventional professional-quality watercolours.
The honey adds a slight shine to the paint.
Honey being a natural wetting agent that helps to improve the flow of watercolor paint and reduce the surface tension of the water. This allows the paint to spread more easily on the paper, resulting in smoother and more even washes.
It is also thought to have a preserving effect on watercolor paint, helping to keep the pigments from drying out and becoming brittle over time.
It couldn't be simpler, and the resulting paints are free of fillers, preservatives, heavy metals, petroleum-based pigments and toxins.
