Product Details

The Galloway BurntGold Ochre is found in a disused quarry over the Scottish Border. It is a little darker and more intense than the Tan Hill Orange

The orange ochre is clay stained with iron oxide better known as rust. When it is calcined or roasted this turns into a rich darker red brown similar to Raw Sienna.

Suitable in all mediums and like most natural ochres is opaque and lightfast.

The gold ochre is sixth on the bottom row of the painted swatch.

Each vial contains approximately 10g of refined pigment and measures 22 x 75mm. The vials also make a fine gift or souvenir for anybody that is an artist.
