This set is an an amazing presentation set of natural colours from the Lake District. The pigments are extracted and refined from natural rocks and earth in and around the area and have been sourced by the artist.
The pigments are refined by the artist using the historical Levigation process and the calcined or burnt to create complimentary colours. These processes have been used by artists for centuries.
All these pigments are suitable for various mediums such as oil, watercolour, acrylic and egg tempera. In the set is a booklet that tells you a little about the pigments, where they come from, the process to turn them into pigments and recipes to turn them into paint.
You may find that the vials contain different from the photos because they are only collected and processed in small batches. However the colours will be similar.
