Your introduction to how the old masters made watercolours. Each vial of pigment has been foraged and selected by the artist and purified using the traditional Levigation process.

The booklet written by the artist tells you about the pigments and gives you recipes on how to make your own watercolour and other paints. The pigments can be used with any medium.

Your Old Master Watercolour set of Lake District Colours comprise of the following

  • A vial of Tan Hill Gold Ochre
  • A vial of Burnt Tan Hill Gold Ochre
  • A vial of Honister Green Slate
  • A vial of Ultramarine Blue (the synthetic version of Lapis Lazuli)
  • A Glass Muller for mixing paint or grinding paint
  • A vial of ground Gum Arabic powder will make around 100ml
  • Mixing shells
  • A Watercolour Brush
