This A3 swatch card is hand painted by the artist. It is painted on a 300gsm archival watercolour paper.
The pigments have been turned into a watercolour using a historic recipe that allows the colour to be lifted and reused if you want to test the colours yourself. Just wet with a dash of water and then 30 seconds later you can lift and play with the colour.
This card showcases 28 of the pigments that Mark has personally foraged and carefully selected. He has then used the historic process of Levigation to extract the colour from various earths and rocks.
As with any creative process some of the colours on the card are longer available as the pigment yield is so low as to be a waste of time. And have been re-placed with others.
